In Bulenga, Uganda, Stop Hunger Now meals have changed the life of 12-year-old Loucky. He is among many students, including refugee children, who have benefited from Stop Hunger Now meals they receive at King Solomon’s Academy.

Loucky, whose favorite class at school is English, dreams of becoming an engineer. And now, because of the nourishment he gets from Stop Hunger Now meals, he can focus on his studies and his dreams.

And like Loucky, the other children at King Solomon’s Academy have seen their health, well-being and academic performance improve. In fact, King Solomon’s Academy now boasts some of the highest test scores in the country, and the students are graduating and enrolling in higher education.

Before King Solomon’s Academy opened, child mortality rates in the area refugee camps were high. Thanks to Stop Hunger Now and LeSEA Global: Feed the Hungry, the organization that distributes the meals, pastor and school director Solomon Mwesige reports that the death rates have declined.

“This is just another example of the power and impact of Stop Hunger Now meals and how they’re changing lives not only in our camp, but in the refugee camps as well,” Mwesige said. “Providing students with the meals gives them daily hope and will also change their lives throughout their futures.”

You can help us end hunger for children like Loucky.  In 2015, the majority of the United Nations — 137 countries — ratified the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Sustainable Development Goal #2 is to end extreme hunger by 2030. This is a clear mandate for Stop Hunger Now.

It isn’t just a dream. It will be a reality — with your support.

This year we asked the partners we work with in more than 40 countries how many meals they would need to feed their communities in 2017. Their answer: 90 million meals. At our current pace, we can realistically expect to package 60.9 million meals next year (excluding those packaged by our international affiliates). That’s a gap of 29 million meals that we need to close as we work beyond 2017 to expand our meal packaging program, and we need your help to do it.

We can end extreme world hunger by 2030. Please consider making a gift to Stop Hunger Now today.
