Over the course of this month, we’ve been gearing up for World Food Day, October 16.  World Food Day is a global day of action against hunger created by the United Nations in 1979. The 2016 theme, “Climate is Changing: Food and Agriculture Must Too.” inspired us to take a look at the impact of climate change on food security, and to consider ways to reduce our environmental footprint.

Now that World Food Day is upon us, we’d like to invite you to take this opportunity to make a positive impact on so many people in need across the globe. Here are three ways you can take action:

Help build a well in Haiti: In the wake of Hurricane Matthew, clean water is needed in Haiti now more than ever. Please consider making a donation today to help us dig a well, build fencing and assemble drip irrigation to support families and smallholder farmers in Haiti. Give $40 or more between now and World Food Day and receive a limited edition H2O for Haiti t-shirt!

We are working together to elevate the issue of hunger with political candidates during the 2016 election cycle. Take the pledge!

Use your social network for social good by sharing a fact or quote to shed light and incite action. Plus, take our World Food Day quiz and challenge your friends to beat your score!

Thank you for joining our movement to rise and end hunger worldwide. Let’s make this World Food Day a catalyst for ongoing change around the globe.
