Stop Hunger Now announced the promotion of Edna Ogwangi to Chief Impact Officer. Ogwangi joined the global nonprofit in 2015 as Director of Aid Distribution, Monitoring and Evaluation, and was promoted to this newly created position in April 2016.

As Chief Impact Officer, Ogwangi will play an instrumental role in driving the organization’s strategic efforts in advancing global food and nutrition security, crisis and resilience issues with a goal of ending world hunger in our lifetime. She will manage all activities pertaining to measuring the effectiveness, impact and sustainability of all Stop Hunger Now programs worldwide.

Stop Hunger Now President & CEO Rod Brooks stated, “With Edna’s extensive international development experience, Stop Hunger Now seeks to have an even greater impact in ending hunger worldwide.”

Ogwangi has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of international development and non-profit management. Prior to joining the Stop Hunger Now team in 2015, she served for 17 years at Land O’Lakes, most recently as Senior Manager of the Global Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Department. She has extensive experience in managing and implementing economic development and nutrition programs around the globe.

Over the course of her career, Ogwangi has managed several US Federal Government, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) programs in more than 20 countries implemented by Land O’Lakes International Development. She has served as an active member of the American Evaluation Association and USAID Learning Lab where she has contributed to several webinar sessions and learning blogs.

Ogwangi said, “My passion is to work with underprivileged and vulnerable groups of people and try to alleviate hunger and empower them to better their lives, while improving and making a positive difference in one life at a time in developing countries where Stop Hunger Now works.”
