Stop Hunger Now, a nonprofit organization working to end global hunger, is partnering with SAP and Concur in the fight against hunger.  More than 100 employees will package 20,000 Stop Hunger Now meals for people suffering from hunger around the world on October 27, 2015, at Concur’s Bellevue headquarters. Stop Hunger Now meal packaging events are a volunteer-based program that coordinates the streamlined packaging of highly nutritious dehydrated meals comprised of rice, soy, vegetables and 23 essential vitamins and minerals.

“We’re delighted to partner with Stop Hunger Now,” said Jerame Thurik, Chief Marketing Officer for Concur. “The wellness of our community is a top priority and the opportunity to help end hunger on a global scale through the great work being done by Stop Hunger Now is one we wouldn’t miss.”

Hunger is an epidemic that affects 795 million people throughout the world. Every night, one in nine people across the globe goes to bed hungry. In 2014, Stop Hunger Now fed 620,500 people through partners in 36 countries.

“Hunger is a problem that can be solved, and represents the common thread among the world’s most challenging problems,” says Rod Brooks, Stop Hunger Now President and CEO. “Food creates hope for the most vulnerable among us, particularly women and children. It also is the key to ending poverty and disease, and providing the education and inspiration struggling people need to make a better future for themselves.”

Stop Hunger Now relies on partners like SAP and Concur to help achieve its mission of ending hunger. Since it launched its meal-packing program in 2005, Stop Hunger Now has distributed more than 200 million meals in 71 countries. In 2014 alone, it engaged nearly 275,000 volunteers at meal-packaging events hosted in 16 countries.

This will be Stop Hunger Now’s first packaging event in the state of Washington. SAP employees have been volunteering with Stop Hunger Now since 2014, and they have packaged more than 50,000 meals for those suffering from hunger around the world.
