On June 13th, more than 400 H.J. Heinz Company employees packaged 141,028 meals.  During the welcoming presentation, Heinz Global CEO Benardo Hees surprised the Stop Hunger Now team with the announcement that for every meal packaged during the event they would donate $1.

The meal packaging event is the first employee initiative under a new partnership between Stop Hunger Now and the Heinz Micronutrient Campaign (HMC). The HMC has been the signature program of the H.J. Heinz Company Foundation for more than a decade, impacting more than 3.5 million children in 15 developing countries.

Under the new partnership, the H.J. Heinz Company Foundation will provide funding for all of the micronutrient sachets used by Stop Hunger Now for the dehydrated, high protein, and highly-nutritious meals they produce. Stop Hunger Now meals are distributed around the world to support education programs and in response to disaster. The Heinz collaboration will provide Stop Hunger Now with an estimated seven million sachets containing crucial vitamin and mineral for more than 42 million meals.

We join Heinz employees and leaders in our excitement for the future and potential of this partnership!
