Stop Hunger Now and Dunwoody United Methodist Church are joining forces in the fight against hunger. More than 1,200 volunteers will package meals for the world’s hungry on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, starting at 8AM at the church. Stop Hunger Now meal packaging events are a volunteer-based program that coordinates the streamlined packaging of highly nutritious dehydrated meals comprised of rice, soy, vegetables and 23 essential vitamins and minerals.
This year will be Dunwoody’s 10th Stop Hunger Now meal packaging event. This event will mark the one-million-meal milestone for the church. Since 2010, the Dunwoody congregation has organized FoodStock, an annual event which has engaged thousands of volunteers in the fight against hunger.
FoodStock 2015 will occur on Saturday, August 15, 2015, from 8am-6pm at 548 Mt. Vernon Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338. The event is still accepting volunteers; registration for the event is available at http://www.dunwoodyumc.org/foodstock/.

The Stop Hunger Now meal packaging program was created to give dedicated individuals the opportunity to participate in a hands-on international hunger relief program and to become educated, engaged advocates for the world’s poor and hungry. In its efforts to respond to emergency needs around the world Stop Hunger Now receives and distributes significant donations of in-kind aid.
