Rise Against Hunger is committed to securing adequate resources for food security around the world as part of our mission to end hunger by 2030.

Aligned with that commitment, we have joined with 123 other organizations to support funding of the foreign assistance budget at no less than $59.1 billion for Fiscal Year 2019.

Today, Rise Against Hunger partner InterAction, an alliance of nongovernmental organizations united for global change, releases Choose to Invest, which details the need for this crucial funding and provides specific examples across sectors including for global hunger and food security programs.

As the report notes: In the face of humanitarian crises, increasing violent conflict and famine, American leadership is needed now more than ever. Standing with those living in the poorest and most vulnerable places around the globe is an investment in the kind of future we want for our country and our world.

Building on decades of experience by InterAction members working in nearly every country worldwide, Choose to Invest provides guidance on how to maintain U.S. global leadership through sustained funding, how proposed cuts would impact global development and aid work and how to catalyze American leadership through increased funding.

Securing adequate resources for nutrition and food security programs is crucial as we work together to end hunger by 2030.
