As 2017 draws to a close, we’d like to take a moment to celebrate our impact, together! Here’s a look at our top five highlights from the past year:

We celebrated as Stop Hunger Now became Rise Against Hunger in January. While our name changed, our mission to end hunger remains. Our new identity has generated global attention, including a November mention in a BuzzFeed spotlight on hunger-related organizations. Read more.

On World Food Day, we put a name to our global movement to end hunger: This is possible. We believe that when we work together to package meals, distribute aid and spread the word, ending hunger by #2030isPossible. Learn more.

During an unusually active hurricane season, we responded immediately by providing assistance to communities in the coastal U.S. and Caribbean nations reeling from back-to-back hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. Read more.

As we entered a new chapter as Rise Against Hunger, we focused on three pathways to end hunger: nourishing lives, responding to emergencies and empowering communities. Through these, we are building self-sufficiency and resilience in communities. Read more.

In 2017, we continued grow our advocacy initiative, encouraging hunger champions to take action by reaching out to their elected officials to help change laws, policies, systems and attitudes to end hunger by 2030. Read more.
