For the second consecutive year, AOL has joined forces with Stop Hunger Now to package nutrient-rich meals to eradicate hunger across the developing world. Nearly 120 employees are slated to assemble 15,000 meals on November 7th at AOL Headquarters in New York, New York.

One day in October 2013, AOL employees volunteered their time to assemble over 10,000 meals. And they’re excited to make an even bigger impact this year! A portion of the meals packaged were deployed to CitiHope International in the Dominican Republic, and the remaining were received by Reach Now International in Zambia. Both CitiHope and Reach Now International utilize the meals through sustainable educational and development programs that empower locals to create strong, self-sufficient communities free from the confines of hunger.

StopHungerNow7“AOL is thrilled to support Stop Hunger Now because as a company, ‘We are in the business of helping people. Period.’,” states Joey Blumenfeld, AOL’s Director, Corporate Social Responsibility. “Through our community relations programs and cause marketing initiatives, we (AOL) empower our clients, consumers and employees to learn, share and connect with causes in an effort to make them part of our everyday lives. Especially with the holidays approaching, we wanted to help raise awareness around the hunger issue and be part of the solution. We’re excited to be able to donate time and resources to help make a difference!”
